Film Pitch

I researched in Romantic Comedies/Drama by looking at other trailers within this genre range and also used a questionnaire to look into what my audience would like to see. After doing this I had to work on my storyline. This took some time as I didn’t want it to look exactly matching to other romantic comedies/drama but I wanted it to be able to connect with others in its genre.
Two people work in offices and eventually have to work together but will they remember what happened during their childhood. In a caravan park the two young children meet whilst on holiday every year they go to the same place and meet up. However things aren’t always smooth with the stress of school when they get back can the couple cope with only seeing each other for a month a year. The equilibrium is broken and the couples love is in jeopardy.
This plot is a typical storyline for a romantic comedy/drama I have compared this to the plot summary for “The Time Traveler’s Wife”
A Chicago librarian suffers from a rare genetic disorder that sends him hurtling through time whenever he is under extreme duress; despite the fact that he vanishes at inordinately frequent and lengthy intervals, he attempts to build a stable future with the beautiful young heiress he loves. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star in this dramatic fantasy, which is directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the best-selling book by author Audrey Niffenegger. Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler--cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry's travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452694/synopsis)
This is longer than my pitch as it is the plot summary for the entire film mine is just the pitch for the teaser trailer.

  1. I like the reference to the equilibrium and the Time Traveller's Wife is certainly an enduring love story although I would argue that it has distinctly paranormal/sci-fi overtones. Good planning Kelly.
