Costumes
Different colours represent different meanings red has a meaning of passion, yellow is optimistic, black is seen as mysterious. During my trailer for the girl I am going to get her to wear a black dress or skirt with a grey coat. This will show mystery in the character as well as passion. Grey can be seen as formal and intensity of the character it can also symbolise success. This is for the office scene at the very beginning of the trailer.
In the office scene the boy will be wearing something very formal i.e. a suit a tie and trousers and possibly a blazer. The office scene is at the beginning and there will be costume changes in this trailer.
In my trailer the main boy character will wear a very formal shirt with jeans whilst not looking too formal I want the boy to seem geeky. However he is on holiday so too formal would not fit the theme of my trailer.
In the holiday park scene the girl will be wearing yellows and oranges as it is supposed to be a holiday and this will be a fun colour. It will be very informal as she is not supposed to be wearing something formal just something fun.

Casting
I researched into characters in Romantic Comedies/ drama and found that they is always the main couple and a few extras within the movie.
I cast my two main characters from two people that were within the sixth form.
Girl- Fran Rose- I needed to age ranges for this character. I needed a younger age group such as 15/16 and also needed an older age range of 20/30. This meant that I needed someone who could look young and old. This would be used with mise-en-scene but I also needed to be able to know that they would be able to play an older character. She has done drama so is good at acting and very reliable.
Boy- Lewis Wright- This character also needed to be able to play various age ranges. I wanted him to be quite smart and a little bit geeky as I am going to represent two characteristics. I want him to be the geeky boy. These two people have a very good connection as there good friends so I know they will not be embarrassed when needing to act together. This is really important as I don’t want to waste time when I’m filming.
I may also need some extras for my film but they will not need to do any acting as they will just be in the background of the films.

Film Pitch
I researched in Romantic Comedies/Drama by looking at other trailers within this genre range and also used a questionnaire to look into what my audience would like to see. After doing this I had to work on my storyline. This took some time as I didn’t want it to look exactly matching to other romantic comedies/drama but I wanted it to be able to connect with others in its genre.
Two people work in offices and eventually have to work together but will they remember what happened during their childhood. In a caravan park the two young children meet whilst on holiday every year they go to the same place and meet up. However things aren’t always smooth with the stress of school when they get back can the couple cope with only seeing each other for a month a year. The equilibrium is broken and the couples love is in jeopardy.
This plot is a typical storyline for a romantic comedy/drama I have compared this to the plot summary for “The Time Traveler’s Wife”
A Chicago librarian suffers from a rare genetic disorder that sends him hurtling through time whenever he is under extreme duress; despite the fact that he vanishes at inordinately frequent and lengthy intervals, he attempts to build a stable future with the beautiful young heiress he loves. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star in this dramatic fantasy, which is directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the best-selling book by author Audrey Niffenegger. Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler--cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry's travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452694/synopsis)
This is longer than my pitch as it is the plot summary for the entire film mine is just the pitch for the teaser trailer.

Cloverfield Viral Marketing Campaign.
Clvoerfield used a very unique and clever viral marketing campaign. Below I have analysed there marketing campaign and how it affected the audience. The audience they were aiming at.
This has been a clear attempt to sell the movie to a particular audience using clips and material from the movie to build interest and enthusiasm. First trailer debuted in the beginning of Transformers. Everyone came out of Transformers and researched the film. The website that was built had the release date for its website. www.1-08-08.com they added photos to it some would be obvious whilst others where mysterious. Each picture had a time on it. A teaser poster appeared but the film had still not been names. This campaign died down and pictures were still being added. This could be due to the fact that the movie did not have a name.
The audience that the trailer was shown to was largely a sci-fi audience. They are also able to be online and this means that are able to have more of an opinion on the trailer.
In Mid December the main campaign started again/
Another trailer was created and looked more like a traditional trailer. This trailer gave the movie a name of “Cloverfield”. It followed the same pattern of the first trailer being released in cinemas in front of “Beowulf”.
They released the trailer online along with the official movie site Cloverfieldmovie.com. The website contained very little information at the beginning of the launch contaqining only the poster as the site was used more commonly the plot synopsis was added. Teaser trailer was added with the link to their facebook and myspace pages.
The poster was branded as the advertising for the film began. Ads were shown online but especially on TV. The adverts were at first aimed at Sci-fi channels but in the final weeks was extended to every channel. Paramount used MSN’s mobile ad format to appeal to a technological audience.

Questionnaire
In order to research further into what my audience would want I sent out a questionnaire to a range of age groups. This helped me find out what audience to aim towards and what they would enjoy seeing in my film. This helped me to come up with my shot list.
